30 Day Challenge Update

30 Day UpdateFor those of you who joined us on the 30 day challenge last week, how are you doing?   We would love to hear your comments, insights, celebrations and struggles in the comment box below.

Accountability is a great way to hold you to your commitment.  If not here, who is your accountability partner?

One of the discussions on the Challenge call on Tuesday evening was to  consider your life as a highway- 8 lane highway.

First of all, it is important to notice if all of our lanes are heading to the same destination.  For instance, if we choose Professional goals that are leading a different direction than Family goals- we might get away with it for a while, but eventually you will be forced to pick one or the other.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Look at the goals you have in each lane, then notice if those goals are in conflict with one another, or if they are in fact moving you toward the same destination.

For those of you who don’t get goals, consider this.  At your 80th birthday party, who do you want to be there and what do you want them to say about you?  What needs to happen in each lane of your life, to build those relationships.

But the other thing to NOTICE?   Are all of lanes moving?  In other words, do you have a lane that seems to be stuck- like my Physical Lane.  I’ve been experiencing a pretty significant slow down in  my health, which is/ and has been affecting all of the other lanes on my highway.  If I don’t pay attention to this lane,  it has the potential of completely shutting my highway down.

For instance, for me,  I’ve had the “write 500 words a day” challenge .  I have achieved that goal, with the exception of one day.  However, the next day the words poured out and I had 1289 words.

Lesson learned: taking a rest day was good for me.
(Note:  I didn’t say taking days off would be good.  At this point of my journey it would not help to get out of rhythm.

But I’ve also taken an drastic step with my nutritional goals.  For the past 6 months I have been trying to greatly decrease my sugar intake.  It has made some significant difference in how I feel.  But this week, I’ve really started to nail this down.  An abnormal blood work report sealed the deal. Right before the holidays!  (Appreciate your encouragement and support in this.)   A year ago, I didn’t think I would ever be willing to make this change.  Thankfully, I made some significant head-ways this hear, because now it’s not an option.
Lesson learned:  Don’t wait till it’s not an option, but if you do- just do it!

So how are you doing?  One a scale of 1-10, how is each lane doing?
Which lanes need immediate attention- maybe there is a flat tire on the side of the road, or a fender bender somewhere that is causing a lane to slow down.  Or maybe you have most of the lanes shutdown already and don’t have any idea how to fix this.

Well, you are in luck?  Kathy’s GHC Roadside Assistance truck is in your area!  Email me at kathy@greenhopecoaching.com.  Some things just need a simple correction and you are on your way.  Other things, we’ll need to tow a few cars off- but it is possible!

Don’t just throw your hands up and say, I’m just going to wait to deal with that in the NEW YEAR.  Let’s take care of it now- so you are well on your way come 2015.   You can do it!

Let’s do this together!
